AwAke was written by Cameron Price and Michael Lucas in the summer of 2001. Production spanned several weekends and was particurlary hard on Price. He was constantly being chased, beaten, covered in rubbing alcohol, and set on fire. The underwater sequence shot at Jordan Lake was an unbelievably disgusting experience.

Shooting proved to be the easy part. Editing of the film took over eight months, and was due in part to 301 having no computer on which to edit - not to mention the month Lucas spent traveling across the country with the MERCURY MEN after 9/11.
