301's most recent foray into surrealism explores the dynamic relationship of form and space through a minimal, disturbing portrayal of imprisonment and loss of memory.

Director Michael Lucas, Lance and Angelique Brown, Mac Lomax, David Winfree, and lead actress Laura Blake braved the rust, ghosts, and asbestos of a long-abandoned hospital in Laurinburg, North Carolina, for some small town guerilla filmmaking. The hospital provided a sinister, perfectly post-apocalyptic setting which was necessary for the mood of the ... set.

The set for Set was constructed by Ed Witkin and erected in the living room of 301. Set was the final film to be shot there before we deconstructed the evidence and disbanded.

Partially inspired by the Ursula K. LeGuin short story "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas", the film is currently in post-production. The first screening of Set will take place at the second quarterly 301 Film Forum on Friday, 13 May 2005.
